Sky rocket conifer

Please can anyone advise whether this sky rocket conifer is dead? The winter seems to have gotten to it. The top is showing fresh growth but everywhere else it looks sorry for itself

Still, look on it as a new planting opportunity  :)

May be something else going on there rather than the winter. It should have coped with harsh winters as they do ok up here in Scotland. It didn't get too dry throughout the summer did it???

Possibly yes. Going to dig it out and replace with a Cypriot conifer I bought from Amazon last year which I've been growing in pots . Hopefully it'll get to the same height pretty quick
