Hot water method on weeds

Hi all,

I've read somewhere in a post about pouring hot water on weeds.
Has anyone tried this and has it worked? I know with some weeds its best to pull the plant up because of its roots.
Don't want to look like an idiot pouring hot water from kettle onto weeds and moss.

I use boiling water on weeds that I can't hand pull.. mainly those between paving stones that are impossible to get at.  It works pretty good for most weeds.. killing off the foliage pretty instantly.

I also use it on things in paving cracks and up against the house, I also use it on ants nests in the same positions.

That reminds me of when my Mum used to nip out with the kettle to pour on ant’s nests! I think it would kill the foiliage of weeds but probably not deep/tough roots, like Dandelions.

My mum did the boiling water over ants nests too! I use a different element on weeds between pavers etc., fire. One of those gas canister wands - seems to work.
