white specks on potted herbs
I maintain a windowsill herb garden (we have cats and mice outside so I don't like to use outdoor produce raw) and the herbs always get white flecks after a bit. They're still edible but not much use as garnishes for my food blog. Why is this? Lack of nutrients? How do I help?

I have 2 concrete herb containers with oregango, thyme, rosemary and marjoram just outside the lounge. They're all covered in the same spots - happens every year, so I'd also be keen for an answer.
I did post the same question here last year with a pic of the bugs, but didn't get a response.
I grow the same herbs in the garden and they seem fine - so I use the garden herbs for cooking
