Red hot poker Aldi

Jason millyJason milly Posts: 546
I bought some red hot poker roots from Aldi they have started to grow and develop some leaves but they don't look like red hot poker leaves but more like lupins or hollyhocks, I am  wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.

I think people swap labels for the fun of it, you can’t mistake red hot poker leaves for anything else, did you look when you bought it or did you not know what they should look like?  I would rather have a lupin or hollyhock plant.

Lupin leaves and hollyhock leaves are very different from RHP and from each other. RHP leaves are strappy like bluebells.

I bought them as bare root sealed in bag with label stapled on  I have some hollyhocks coming on and both plants look like each other.

I suppose it's just conceivable that a new member of staff  at the supplying nursery might have been confused :-/
