Hi all, just wondering when you should start to see some growth on Miscanthus grass? I'm new to them this year and bought a few miscanthus strictus but don't see any new shoots yet. I know it's being fairly cold spring but it's starting to warm up so thought i would see something by now even though it's a warm season grass. The calamagrostis karl foerster is growing away nicely. thank you

thanks Ian. Maybe i am being impatient. Temperature set to rise next week above average so hopefully should see some new shoots. I guess it will take several years before i see any substantial height growth from miscanthus anyway.

I put in three miscanthus "Flamingo" 2 years ago in a school garden I look after and last year they made about 3ft or so and stood well throughout the winter. I'm late in cutting them down but hope to do it tomorrow -weather permitting.
