Pruning Fuschia Mrs Popple

TheChunkTheChunk Posts: 25
I'm wondering what to do about pruning my Fuschia Mrs Popple. I think I've read that you should wait for the new growth to start in Spring and cut back fairly hard to the new growth.

Problem is I still haven't really got any new growth! I can see some tiny little red nodules but that's about it. Should I cut it back now or am I being too keen and should wait a bit longer?

Thanks in advance,
Alan.

I'd think you'd be ok to cut it back now.

I prune them about now - in fact I cut one hardy fuschia right back last year (I feel bad saying it but I don't really like the bright pink of whatever variety it is so I 'risked' a hard cut)...
    and it flourished!

I prune mine at the back end of the year. In fact you have just reminded me that I was going to thin it out more with the pruning saw in the spring. Mine grows to about 7-8ft and I cut it back to about 3ft at the end of every 2nd year.
