    Looks like a Euphorbia.

Possibly Euphorbia griffithii 'Dixter' or a form of E.martinii ; bit early yet .
All contain a very irritant white sap .

It is not E.martinii, but E.griffithii is probably correct.
He calls her the chocolate girl
Cause he thinks she melts when he touches her
She knows she's the chocolate girl
Cause she's broken up and swallowed
And wrapped in bits of silver

I think E. griffithii. I have both Dixter and  Fireglow, but there is very little difference.
I cut the old ( last years ) stems down at this time of year to show off the new shoots.
You don't stop doing new things because you get old, you get old because you stop doing new things. <3
