Managing fly infestation on indoor seedlings/compost.

Dear all,
I have a serious fly infestation on the seedlings started indoors. I have around 80 seedlings at the moment and the house is buzzing with tiny flies everywhere. This along with plants in every windowsill is starting to wind both my kid and OH up   . I have tried the fly tape and have captured a whole lot, but there seems to be no end to it and more seems to be hatching everyday. Is there any solution to this? Also would this root tubers etc?
thanks!

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.

    Yes, almost certainly fungus gnats.

This is such a shame but you have to get them out of the house. Rig up a bubble wrap tent with bricks or something to save them from frost if you have nothing else.

Your environment seems to be too warm and damp and this is the result. It has happened to me in the past.

Don't let that put you off from growing seeds though. A slightly cooler area in the house should work.

That's why I stopped planting seeds indoors, hate those little flies.
