Hi all, we have a semi circular flower bed around 8 foot long by 3 foot wide.  Looking for smallish, colourful, country cottage style plants.  Can anyone advise which flowers and shrubs would work well.  The background is 2 david austin yellow climbing roses.

Any advice appreciated.

    Which way does the bed face, how much sun does it get and what's the soil like?

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Hi there, the bed faces north.  Gets sun late afternoon.  Soil is good.  Not clay.  Not sure if I've helped much :)

    I'll put in irises, delphiniums, roses so just wondered what small shrubs would work well.
