Turf on stoney soil

Hi all My garden is nearly finally clear after removing all slabs, pavers and gravel.
I'm preparing it to lay turf. I'm currently rotavating, but the ground is very stoney, and I wonder how much stone needs to be removed? I have obtained some manure to add organic material.
Does anyone have any photos of their ground before parking turf as good (or maybe bad) examples to work to?
