I have mistakenly cut back all growth to ground level. Will the plant recover enough to flower again this year?

Not if it's one of the early flowering types. Which one is it?

Stygiana I think (or one with very similar leaves).

I doubt if that will flower this year.
It's more of a shrub really and doesn't throw up a flowering shoot which then dies and needs cutting off
