Freesias

hi all, I planted s pot of freesias last summer, they did nothing, I just dug them out to check them& all the bulbs were all soft& squishy , I've just put s few more in another pot, in our open porch, any ideas what happened to the last lot & how can I be successful this time? Again thanks in advance

I've only ever been successful with freesias when I planted and kept them in the house. ..I gave up trying to grow them in the garden

I maybe wrong rosemummy but think there is a strict planting regime with them and not sure if I dreamt this but think you have to put your planted pot in the dark for a while and not sure how long!
