I have the roots and base of an old Laburnum tree which fell in the winter and the wood is mostly soft and rotten. Given the well known properties of Laburnum, would invertebrates be attracted to it and is it harmful to them?

We once moved to a garden had a very old laburnum tree which was rotting away and dying. It's trunk and roots seemed full of beetles and other insects and they seemed none the worse for living there.

That's what I was hoping, thanks.
