Something for the weekend... A note on the spam filter

If you get spam leaking through outside of office hours, you can click the Flag button at the bottom of a post, and then click Spam. After five people have reported a post as Spam (you'll see a count on the post), the post will automatically be removed from the forum until a moderator can get to it, to approve or decline...

Don't forget, you can dismiss these announcements once you've read them by clicking the cog icon next to the thread title in Recent discussions, and then clicking Dismiss.

what a great idea Nora. Sometimes they're fun and lead to great hilarity, but some are just boring.
I think dismiss would be great for all threads, there are some that I'll never be interested in and I'm sure it's the same for everyone else

Hi @nutcutlet > I don't think something like that would be possible to build unfortunately, but I'll ask the team anyway. You can however mute categories now - but I wouldn't recommend this, as you may miss something interesting. To mute a category, go to Categories at the top of the page, and click the cog icon on the left-hand side of the category name, then click Mute. The other option Mark read removes the 'new' flags.

I am serious about flagging my post as spam.
Doubt I'll get banned for being a test subject on a new forum feature 😇

    Has anybody clicked it yet?
I can't see any number count from my end.

I see the flags now Nora. On both of my posts above 😨.

Is everything I've ever written under suspicion now?
Please don't wipe me out completely 😜

This is a good feature! I imagine there will be some way for it to be abused, but let's hope not!

@NoraGW. Question: Do 5 spam flags block the post, or the person who wrote it?

I have no problem with my cheeky ad getting wiped.
My inquisitive mind just wanted to see how it worked.
