Cameraria ohridella pheromone lures

Since 2013 I have been using pheromone traps to try and control leaf mining moth in a row of five large horse chestnut trees in SW France. This is in conjunction with collection and burning of the leaf fall, but because of hedgerows, ditches etc this cannot be 100% complete. Pretty well all the leaves are brown by mid July. I have 10 traps in the five trees, which I replenish every six weeks. The traps are about 5 m  above ground.

I am unsure whether the traps are helping or not. None of Wikipedia, Kew or RHS list traps as a potential treatment, although there are scientific articles. Does anybody else have a good (or bad) experience?
