How to stop a squirrel eating my crocuses
We have successfully stopped the resident grey squirrel from eating the birds' nuts and fat balls, but it's now taken to eating the tops of not-quite-opened crocuses. Is there anything harmless I can spray on them that will make them taste horrible to squirrels?

Not sure how effective it is as I've not needed to try it but I once heard of covering bulbs in chilli powder (when you plant them) to deter squirrels. I wonder if you could sprinkle some on the crocus flowers? Not so much that it ruins the flowers, just enough so that the squirrels get a taste of it?
Thanks, I'll give it a go.
No prob. Let us know how you get on. He's a cheeky fellow allowing you to photograph him as he munches on the crocuses!
