Help me Identify This gorgeous plant!

So, my friend gave me a couple of his plants since he is moving away and can't care for them. One of them is a mystery to both of us.

What is this plant? What is the correct way to take care of it?

    I think that's a 'Crown of Thorns' (Euphorbia milii).

    I am sure that plant was featured on Monty Dons's paradise gardens programme last week. It was growing in the Saffron Garden on the Amber Fort in India. He said it came from Madagascar. It is a beautiful Euphorbia.

     That's wonderful news for me since I'm in India as well. Tells me it'll do wonderfully here.
