Carex elata 'Aurea'

I have 2 Carex elata 'Aurea' growing in my pond.
Would now a good time to re-pot before it sends up new shoots?
They would be replanted in the same pots with fresh soil.
Should I cut it right back?
What would you do?

I have two C.elata 'Aurea' growing in my flower borders ; I always lop off all top growth in the Autumn .
Obviously they're not fussy as to soil requirements ; yours in a pond , mine in a dry border (!)
