Very interesting photos, but also quite hard to work out the scale. The top photo looks very much like a mature Griselinia Littoralis shrub/tree. The last photo looks like it's been cut off a shrub/tree? Looks like a type of Myrtle. But could be totally wrong. Second photo, another picture of the size and shape of plant may help.
