Cleaning Wild Tillandsia

I recently returned home to Trinidad and Tobago from college in Canada and have been noticing a lot of Wild Tillandsia on the trees around my yard, and since being introdue to the Northern air plant culture, I’ve grown a liking to them and too care of many while abroad I though Id try to do the same here.

Now I am just wondering what I can do to clean off all the little pests and moss that maybe on them. Any suggestions?

Mosses and lichens should be left alone ... they are an important part of the ecosystem of the trees and also add greatly to the beauty.
