Plant ID please

Hello all you knowledgeable gardeners out there.

This is my first post, so be gentle please. Can anyone tell me what this is? It has appeared over the last few months, tucking itself away at the edges of the garden usually. It has not flowered, which made me suspicious, and has grown 8" - 10" across before I decided to dig it up (although it pulls out quite easily).

I'm assuming the seeds are from this plant as they were close to it. There seemed to be hundreds of the little blighters so no doubt I will be digging this out for years to come!

Thanks in advance

Macdoris

  • The plant in pic 4 looks like a baby forget me not.

It will flower next spring and then self seed if not removed promptly.

Lots of people like the way they make a sea of blue and as you say, they are easy to pull out if need be.

The seedlings are not forget me not but something else .

Picture 3 looks a bit like Ipheion bulbs.

  • Thank you all for your replies image .

I haven't pulled out all the plants, and I certainly haven't got rid of all the seeds, so I will wait and see what comes up.

If the 'seeds' are Ipheion bulbs I won't be too disappointed as they are very pretty looking flowers.

    Cheers

  • The white ones look a bit like Ficaria verna (lesser celandine).
