Potting a drachena cutting

Hi, in a bunch of flowers I was given there was a bit of greenery which I think is a drachena. I kept it once the flowers were finished and it's been in water now for about 3 weeks. 

I want to get it to grow if possible and it looks to have little roots coming off the side of the stem. Should I now pop it into a pot of indoor compost and keep it somewhere warmish and away from cold extremes?

It's been on the dining room windowsill but that's probably not ideal now as it gets cold from the glass and warm from the radiator
