Tree pruning

Can anyone advise whether I should prune this large offshoot from my 8 year old Kowhai tree?

    HELLO,

MOST OF US HERE LIVE IN UK. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A KOWHAI TREE BUT GOOGLE IMAGES OF MATURE TREES SEEM TO SUGGEST THAT YOURS IS ADOPTING A FAIRLY NORMAL SHAPE.

I WOULD JUST LEAVE IT ALONE.image

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.
  • Ok, thanks. I'll see how it develops.

Your Sophora sp. tree is adopting its usual shape ; quite a few of those are fairly hardy in the UK in a sheltered position . Best left alone .

PS  Used to use a Victa 2-stroke mower years ago ; one of the best ever !image

  • OK, thanks. I'll put the pruning saw back in the shed! The Victa's been going strong now for over 10 years.
