Lawns

I have the opportunity to lay a new lawn, but as it's November is it too late to turf for this year?

I wouldn't. The weather is less likely to have a long enough warm spell. It's better to delay this till spring next year. Far easier for your turf to take to the soil.

  • You can lay a lawn at pretty much any time of winter.  The most important thing is to level/tread/level etc the soil thoroughly. If you want it done now, do it. It will take just fine.

This is good advice BUT do not attempt to lay turf in frosty conditions or if frost is expected.

Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
