Move strawberries?

I have a bed of strawberries less than 5 years old which have been invaded with couch grass clumps .... should I dig out and re plant the strawberries in another area ?

Strawberry plants should be replaced every few years so I would start from scratch in another place, using new plants.

    Dordogne and Norfolk
  • It's best to replace every three years or take new plants from the third years runners and plant in the ground in a different place in the garden same year and repeat every three years.

Couch grass....... I'd take the lot out, dispose of them and start again I think.

  • yes, you can re-plant new strawberries plants in new place. Because the best life period of strawberries plants is up to three years. After this, you should have to re-plant these for the best output.
