Lacebark Elm issue
i am new here I live in south Texas, and i have a rather large issue with 3 large Lacebark elms where they have recently lost very large limbs. not such a big deal but as i examine the trees i see areas in the bark where it appears the limb dying. As you can see in the first picture the limb is about to break. there are ants (not in abundance) in the trees but could they or would they cause this ?

as this is a UK based forum none of us can grow that species of tree and will have no experience of any USA based diseases/pests,
sorry but you might want to find a USA based gardening forum
