Strawberry Tree - Will it Root?

Someone sawed off a very large part of a Strawberry Tree - Arbutus unedo  which I have taken home. First I thought it might be just decorative as is - then as I placed it in a large bucket of water - admiring it - I thought maybe it can be rooted somehow? Grafting it?

What is the verdict? Can this be done? If so, how? Please tell me all that is needed for this endeavor and I will do what's needed to bring this beautiful tree back to a rooted life.

It's highly unlikely that a large branch would take root ... however if the younger growth at the ends of the branch is still fresh and firm you might be able to take and strike a few cuttings from the shoots, as described here

Thank you DoverfromAbove. Lovely name. Will try and do this. It seems that an hour or two after putting the tree into the bucket it perked up - so it's apparently drawing water up the branch. Do you think I could leave it for a day before doing the propagation? I have all the necessary things to do this I just need some extra time.

The sooner the better, but you can only do what you can do.  Good luck.
