I have several heleniums.do i cut them back now or in spring.thanks

Your Heleniums should be showing signs of a new basal rosette of leaves ; these will be next years flowering stems .

Their flowers are coming to an end about now ; cut down to the new leaves as and when the current flowers are looking 'tired' .
