If it's quite big, then I recommend you cut some off. But, if it's quite small, you may be able to get away with it. You can photograph your Fuchsia so it's a bit clearer on which type. When you say tiny, it sounds like a hardy type Fuchsia? You can cut those down if you want to change pots.

Thanks for replying. It is a hardy fuschia as it has survived 2 winters outside. Will trim it back before repotting.
