Dividing perennials

imageI have a huge orange daisy like plant which is too big for where it is.  I can't find the name.  Can I divide it and move it at the time of year?

    looks like rudbeckia goldstrum. 

    I'd say it looks fine there, but you could move it now, but I'd suggest you cut all the flowers off. 

    I'd think it better to enjoy  them now, and lift and split in the spring.

  • Thanks for the advice.  I might leave it till next month but I need to move it as I want to screen the BT box in my front garden.
