Please can anyone tell me when I can dig up and move some gladioli because of a big colour clash. I live in the south and so will leave them in the ground - the stems have now gone brown but the leaves are still green.
It should be fine. Water well and leave it to soak in so you cause less root disturbance when you do dig them out. They will re-establish all the quicker and be able to take advantage of relatively warm soils and autumn rains.

The other way to do it is to lift the corms dry & store over winter replant where you want them in spring. That is a lot of faff so I would go with Obelixx.
