Problem indoor palm
Can someone please advise how to best look after this palm?
My mother and grandmother both seem to have cared for it perfectly well over the last 25 or more years ( it is that old) and the moment it was mine to look after I left it out in the sun and rain in July (which I thought was a good idea) and now it looks dried out or scorched.
Don't palms like sun? What should I feed it and how often? I'm in a bit of a panic that I managed to half kill it. How can I encourage fresh growth?

Thanks Philippa - I will try a water spray and a shady spot.

It's called Chamaedorea elegans , or the Parlour Palm ; I think endemic to forest habitats in Central America .
