Plant ID Please?

Can anyone identify this shrub for me please?  It looks a lot like Bay, and the aroma from the leaves is very similar.  We moved to this house in July and so far there have been no flowers or berries to help identification.  The shrub makes a well-shaped shrub, currently about 4ft tall.  There's lots of new growth now.  Any help would be very much appreciated!

    IF IT SMELLS LIKE BAY THEN IT PROBABLY IS BAY.
