  • I water mine about three or four times a year.

  • so i guess possibly over watering? or too much sun?

  • Plenty of sun is fine ... just what they like.  The problem is too much watering ... let the soil dry out ... I hardly water mine in the winter at all and only occasionally in the summer.

Soil needs to be a gritty free-draining mix ... I would use a mix of 50% John Innes loam based seed compost and 50% horticultural grit (you can use the grit sold for aquariums if you only want enough for one or two pots as it's sold in smaller amounts).

When you water give it a soaking then stand it somewhere where it can drain freely.  Don't water again until the soil is really dry.
