Maple disease?

image Picture attached. Any idea what would cause this type of browning? They don't appear to be tar spots or mold based (that i can tell). It happened quickly, in a few days, and now the leaves are falling off the tree rapidly.

    Maple leaves often look a bit manky at this time of year, especially if it's been wet. Is it the whole tree that's affected?

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
