Some one gave me this, but didn't know what it was. House plant, garden plant, Hardy or vulnerable? Any help? Red under leaf and stem. It's been overfed I think. I hope it attaches!

Think the leaves are the wrong shape for begonia, which are more like an elephants ear.

Any more clues Kathy?  The stems look quite fleshy, are they the same at the base, or woody?

  • My first thought was indoor begonia as well, there are lots of different types.

Yes the stems look right Chrissy, it was the leaf shape putting me off, never seen one that shape before.  There must be thousands of different ones though. Maybe someone who can do that "image search" thingy can pinpoint it ?

  • Please can you try to add a pic Kathy to show the whole plant.

Leaf shape doesn't look right for Begonia

    Aren't Begonia  leaves alternate?
