Buying bulbs

Can anyone recommend the best place to buy bulbs please

  • It depends what you want ... For good quality special named varieties I use Broadleigh mail order. Have a look at their website. Great quality and customer service.

For cheap and cheerful Homebase, Wilko etc but don't leave if too long to buy from them as they're not always stored in the best conditions.

  • dutchbulbs.co.U.K. If you are looking at bulk pirchases. Quality acceptable and very cheap.

  • I bought some decent bulbs at a good price at both Wilko and Morrisons

Decent selection of daffs, tulips, iris, crocus and even got a frittilaria imperialis from wilkos for a couple of quid.

You can also order online for Wilkos with I think £5 delivery

Or you can make your order online from wilko and collect for free from your local store. They will ring when your order is in store ready for collection.

i buy a lot of wilko bulbs, tubers and plants and not had a bad lot yet.

Lidl have very good offers on bulbs now.  Don't know how good they are but they look OK.

Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

I use B&M for common bulbs like dwarf daffs - purple sensation. Lidl have very good bulbs normally better / cheaper than bulbs from the local garden centre but lack variety's. Anything specific I normally check the local GC , online retailers I use Peter Nyssen - Anglia bulbs.
