Tithonia? Not sure - am suggesting that without having watched the programme programme yet.
Tithonia - Mexican sunflower. An annual which needs full sun and well drained soil. Seeds available form Chiltern's, Suttons, Sarah Raven etc. Check out their sites and take your pick on price.

Tithonias are usually much taller than 2 foot.
When you don't even know who's in the team
S.Yorkshire/Derbyshire border
Have re-watched it, the plants I am interested in, are by the Hornbeam hedge, they are indeed as tall as Monty, BUTm the centres are as orange as the outside petals. Have looked up Tithaonias,, cannot see one that looks as orange. We saw some as well in Arundel.
Believe me, tithonias are a very rich orange and what you get on a PC screen or catalogue will not be the true colour.
Packet of seeds not exactly expensive so give them a try. You may get exactly what you're after and won't lose much in trying.

If you watch the episode from the previous week (I think) he does specifically discuss his tithonias - he definitely has them - which may help you to know if those are they
Thank you all, seeds here we go then!
A couple of weeks earlier Monty mentions Tithonia rotundifolia torch.
Can grow to 6ft.
Was this what you saw in Episode 25/2017 ?
