Perovskia

LoxleyLoxley Posts: 5,236

How does Perovskia look as we go through Autumn into winter? Does it usually flower until the frosts or does it go into a decline? I've seen some cheap end-of-line P.'Little Spire'; currently looking very spent, but assume they've been poorly looked after and will be OK when they come back next year.

I am very fussy about plants lasting well in the garden, as it's such a small plot!

Flowers late for me, plus the stems look good all winter, they are white.

I then cut back virtually to the base in early Spring.

    Hi WillDB

As punkdoc says , they look good in the winter . I look after some at an elderly persons complex periodically ; I keep these @ about 2' minimum height , like a Buddleia , pruning off all flower stems completely .

Cool, thanks. I may give them a go, for £2 a pop it sounds like a worthwhile punt.
