I planted a white bottle brush plant around 5 years ago. I have never pruned it but it is now out of shape. I live in Devon so no problem with frosts etc but if I cut it back now (September) will I cut off next years flowers? It has been flowering on and off all summer.

Now is the time to prune it. Don't go overboard though, I don't think they like a hard-pruning.
