Dr Trevor Dines, Botanical Specialist at charity Plantlife, said if people see the plant they should contact their council immediately.
Here, in the West of Scotland, it is rampant and the councils ignore it. Giant hog weed and Japanese knotweed are likewise ignored. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to make councils do something?
Give them more money?
Lots of them are having to pare their budgets to the bone just to maintain essential services. They simply can't afford 'frills' like conservation work.
