Echinacea - when do I plant out ?

iv just purchased a batch of echinacea plants. Will they be best left in their pots until next spring or should I get them into the ground now ?

Im a beginner at gardening but I'm thinking if Iv been sold them now then mows the time to get planting.

ThankYou in advance of any kind information you could offer on this.

It depends on what protection you have. Small plants in small pots, I would put in the next size pot and then plant out in Spring after they show good growth. I would protect them in a greenhouse or cold frame. Larger plants in six inch pots or more can go straight out. Protect around them with grit or crushed  baked eggshells as the slugs love them when they start to come through.

I have some echinacea  which the slugs don't seem interested in.  I suspect my slugs are too busy getting fat munching on my hydrangeas instead .image
