Splitting grapes
in Fruit & veg
I have a very healthy grapevine which has produced several bunches of grapes this year. All seemed to be going well until the grapes began to ripen. Now about half of them are splitting. Is this similar to what can happen to tomatoes? I haven't noticeably changed my watering scheme and we haven't had a significantly drier spell lately. Any ideas?

I have moved house and inherited a black dessert grape which has been planted outside the greenhouse and allowed to grow inside. Many grapes have split. We have had a lot of rain this summer so I don't think it is due to a lack of water. Could too much be the problem. No sign of disease. Also, what do I do with the vine now in terms of pruning?
