If you have neutral soil, you could try Kalmia Lactifolia, the Mountain Laurel. Bunches of flowers in early summer on glossy leaves. Another one that is semi-evergreen and will keep leaves for much of the year if you have a sheltered spot, like against a wall, Viburnum Hillieri, the Arrowwood. A shrub that has many interests. Clusters of early summer flowers followed by berry-like fruits and leaves that colour from spring right up to late autumn.
