Has anyone ever grown these outdoors?

I'm amazed that they would even grow in our climate here in the UK.

I do have a 5 foot wide south facing, sheltered sunny wall that I would like to grow a couple of cordons up.

I'd never considered these, but I'd hate to invest in one then realise it simply wasn't sweet or ripe properly.

If anyone knows any genuinely reliable cultivars to consider / check out, I'd be interested to know about them.
