Hi, we have this in our back garden and want to know what it is and if it poisonous. Can anyone advise please?

    Not poisonous as far as I know but the pigeons will eat them all anyway and return them onto your car if you park under a tree at this time of year. Same goes for blackberriesimage

    Sambucus nigra...elderberry....Can be used to make wine/jelly etc.

    Certainly not poisonous, B3, and IMO a much underrated plant.  Grows almost anywhere, needs next to no care, only cutting when it gets too big, produces edible flowers and fruit.  I like to add the berries to my Apple crumble.

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I have one that self-seeded in just the right place. I wanted a small tree and there it appeared.

    I keep it pruned to a good shape. The branches are easy to cut when they're green. It actually looks better than the Sutherland gold that I planted elsewhere.
