Planting Wisteria for this location, but..
Should I plant it to the left or right of the window?
i'd like a grafted wisteria to grow up this south facing wall of our house. I was thinking I'd plant it to arc around the door and bay, however this summer we discovered a healthy rose which you can see in this pic. It's also planted between the window and door.
Could I plant the wisteria in almost the same place since they have different flowering times (wisteria for Spring, climbing rose for August?)
Or am I better off planting the Wisteria to the left of the window (near bins) and training it to go right around the window and house? If so, does this mean only choosing a species that twines clockwise or am I being daft?
thanks

if you plant a wisteria, you'll have a helluvah job painting your house in the future.
Thanks but it doesn't need painting as we recently did it.
is anyone able to answer my question?
If you plant it to the left of the window, have you thought about it growing over onto the neighbours exterior walls. They might be none too pleased about that. With all the good will in the world, in Summer wisteria grow like billio and you'd be forever trimming it to keep it in bounds. They are large plants when they get going.
Can you tell us the name of this everlasting paint you've been using?
Maybe do it on the right just to be on the safe side with neighbours as it could end up wrapped around their pipe and cause trouble down the line
It'll look lovely either way, my Wisteria has gone a bit mental this year (only 18 months old) so I need to prune it and hope it continues to go nuts next year too.
Don't be impatient like me though and plant it before having a proper frame to train it on, I'm now building it around it- so impatient and silly of me
All the best
