Had one of these in my garden until recently ; when the roots got near the house from 50' away my concern grew ; regrettably had to get rid . Had reached 40' tall in 25 years and would have got much bigger ; even coned every year !
I bitterly regret the loss ; a truly beautiful tree , but not suitable for the average garden .
Thats not houses, its just a 400ft tall glass buidling.. What's the worst that can happen
I work opposite the gerkin and have many times admired the trees they planted around it. Always nice to see some greenery amongst the concrete jungle that is the city.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thank you
I searched high and low for a page like that! Will be getting one I think
Have you seen how big these things get? Have you got the space it will need? And the soil?

Who the **** planted a tree that big near houses? Is there such a thing as "Crime against gardening"?

It is, but the OP seems to want one for their own garden, hence the warning on size and suitability.
