Obs, for info, the beds are 1.2m x 4.8m ( the boarding comes in 4.8m lengths, so 1.2 wide seemed obvious) The paths between are .8m, but that was just to make it all a bit balanced.
The 3 at the bottom are 2.4m long .
Bob. Indeed so , and I'll just top it up . I know there are a few docs coming through, but I decided against a membrane underneath to the chippings eventually bed in , and rot into the ground. I'll always have more.
The plot gets wider towards the bottom so I sneaked another couple along the fence. I'm also planning one big long bed along the fence line at the bottom.
Our timbers are 2.5m Hosta so common sense says 1.25 wide and 2.5 or 5m long. OH has built me one 2.5 wide and 7.5 long which is fine as I can use one such big blocks for squashes and sweetcorn but he's built another 2 at 2.5 wide to save sawing! I have now undone one of those to make it 1.25 wide and expect a change to t'other as well as all future raised beds except the fruit cage which can stay 2.5m wide as it won't matter about walking between permanent rows of peaches, apricots, plums, cherries and soft fruits.

The plan is for fruit and veg, but also for cut flowers and a " nursery " area to grow things on to a decent size before going into the garden.
Thanks for those pics Hosta. Now maybe OH will understand about raised bed dimension!

Excellent and I can see lots of your mountains of chippings have been put to good use, Hosta!

Crikey Hosta, that's some allotment.
Cookery course next for using the fruit and veg?
Obs, I like the beds so I can reach into the middle from the "paths" without standing on the soil.
