Espalier

Hello, I would like to create the espelier imageas in the attached picture.  I don't want to attach the mesh of wires I often see when an espalier is being trained as I think all the wires look ugly.  This has an unusual oval shape and therefore straight lines are not going to work.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how I would need to wire to create this espalier, how I would need to bend the wire to create the oval shape?  Perhaps I need a series of vine eyes in the shape of the espalier at several intervals?  Help!!  Thank you

That looks like ivy to me .... no need for wires .... the ivy will cling to the wall ... all it needs is judicious clipping over many years.

Then you need wires until it has grown and been clipped to shape as it won't cling to bricks by itself.

image  I can't see how you would use vine eyes without using wires.

I think I would obtain a fabricated frame to fix to the wall to train your jasmine over as here

... you could get a local steel fabrication company, blacksmith or similar to make one to your design

Alternatively these people may be able to help

When you fix the frame to the wall it will need to be mounted so that it sits well proud of the wall surface in order for the vines to twine around and to allow air flow behind the plant to prevent disease.

There's nothing to stop you inserting vine eyes outlining the shapes you want and just stretching wires between them but, as said before, growth and training will not happen overnight so you will have visible wires until it does mature.
